GirlGeek of the Week
July 2000
Betsy Brewer
For five years, Betsy Brewer balanced her
job as a secretary and her after-hours passion for graphic design.
When the Web moved into the fast lane, so did her design career.
She became a professional designer, leaving secreterial work for
good to pursue her love for design. Things got really geeky when
she first visited a site designed entirely in Flash. Betsy says,
"I felt like a complete idiot calling myself a web designer after
seeing this masterpiece." And in a flash, her direction changed
again.
Mustering all her technical and artistic capability,
she taught herself Flash. Her company, B
Graphic, is now two employees strong, designing Flash
sites in animated glory and dazzling geeks everywhere.
