Cheryl Hendrickson

Cheryl Hendrickson was born and raised in Springfield, MO. She says she didn't attend college because she "was suckered into the insurance business fresh out of high school." In small town America she wasn't surprised to be "stuck" in insurance for 16 years.

Marrying a military man in 1987 got her out of Missouri. They moved to Kansas City, San Diego, and then Mesquite, TX. Somewhere along the way she became very interested in computers and design. Now firmly distanced from her former insurance agent self, Cheryl dazzles on the web as a site designer at 5'Odezyn.

When did you first discover your love and/or obsession with computers and technology?

I became interested in computers through friends in 1987. My husband and I were visiting a friend who was just totally infatuated with his new computer. He proceeded to show us all the amazing stuff that it would do (acting like a computer wiz! NOT!), all the while thinking I was a woman who knew nothing of this experience and would NEVER know anything of the sort. Of course, it is in my character to not say a word to differ but to SHOW them! (since I am from the Show Me State this seems appropriate!)

It wasn't long after my computer purchase that he received an invitation to visit us! Need I say more!!!!

My interest in becoming a web designer soon followed when I felt the need to rid the Internet world of ALL shooting animated cowboys and racing bunnys!

How do you earn a living?

I am a web designer.

Do you consider yourself a Geek?

Yes! Most definitely! Anyone who never sees the light of day and has screen burn on their face has got to be a geek!

What do you do when you are not working?

I spend all the time I can with my father with whom I share an interest in firearms and ammunition reloading!

What's your motto?

Kick Butt, Take Names and don't let anything stop you! Be good to your family, realize whom your friends are and you will go far!

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Jessica Alba — Dark Angel — it's an attitude thing! Plus I don't wear a black leather outfit everyday! lol

What would be the title of your autobiography?

Oh God! What's Next?

Who is the person you most admire?

George Bush! Anyone that can put up with Al Gore being the cry baby that he is without having a good ole fashioned smack down has got to be admired!

When and where were you the happiest?

It would be unfair for me to single out one because ALL happy moments are treasures to me! Life deals you too many downers so just appreciate every single one of the uppers.

If you could have one super power what would it be?

To be able to bottle up the most wonderful emotions a person can experience and turn around and give it to those that are lacking.
