Gladys Barnes

Gladys Barnes is vice president of engineering at eHow, a Web site that provides users with step-by-step instructions on thousands of real-world activities, such as changing the oil in a car, negotiating a raise or making Cajun hot sauce. Barnes is an expert in Internet e-commerce development and has over a decade of international and domestic experience with several multinational companies in the technology arena.

Barnes came to eHow from Peoplesoft, where she served as the director of worldwide support services. At Peoplsoft, Barnes led the vision and strategy of the company's corporate extranet and integrated e-commerce capabilities, allowing customers, partners and prospects to manage their relationships with Peoplesoft via the site. Prior to Peoplesoft, Barnes was the senior Web services e-commerce manager for Sybase Inc., and led a team to design, implement and maintain the company's extranet infrastructure. She has also worked with Claris (Apple), Boeing, and Computer Science Corp.

Barnes received her B.S. in information systems from California State University in Hayward.
