Linda Hannan
Linda
Hannan is founder, president, CEO and majority owner of Internet
Transmission Network (ITN), one of the only independent
broadcasting services in the country and a pioneer in the area of
live production and distribution for the Internet. The company transmits
24-hour programming around the world for a variety of broadcast,
cable and Internet clients.
Prior
to launching ITN, Hannan was vice president and general manager
of Western Images, one of the first video production companies in
the country. During her tenure at Western, Hannan pioneered the
use of satellite and fiber transmission for the coverage of news,
sports, entertainment and corporate communications. Under her management,
Western served as the CBS Network News Bureau in the Northwest for
eight years. Hannan also created a turnkey operation for CBS affiliates
to cover the 1984 Democratic National Convention.
In 1993,
Hannan was recognized as Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the National
Association of Women Business Owners. She has also been honored
for her contributions to broadcasting and electronic media by American
Women in Radio & Television.
Hannan
is an accomplished producer, and a number of her projects have been
recognized by the film and broadcast industry. Her docu-drama for
NorCal Insurance, "A Time of Trial," earned a Silver Screen
Award at the U.S. Industrial Film Festival and a Bronze Award at
the International Film & TV Festival in New York.
A native
of Massachusettts, Hannan was one of the first women to attend Dartmouth
College, graduating magna cum laude. She is past president of the
Dartmouth Alumni Association of Northern California. She is also
a past president of the International Teleproduction Society (ITS)
of Northern California and is currently a member of the international
board of ITS.
