Leslie Katz
Leslie
Katz is vice president of business development at Brainpower,
an IT contractor service provider. Katz is also a San Francisco
Supervisor, elected to the Board of Supervisors for a four-year
term on November 4, 1996 following her appointment by Mayor Willie
L. Brown June 1, 1996. Supervisor Katz serves as chair of the Transportation
and Land Use Committee and is a member of the Audit and Government
Efficiency Committee. She is past vice-chair of two committees:
Economic Development, Transportation and Technology; and Health,
Family and Environment. She is a member of the San Francisco Transportation
Authority, the MTC-sponsored Transbay Paneland the Bay Area Bioscience
Center.
Katz,
a strong advocate of public/private partnerships and job training
opportunities, has spearheaded initiatives aimed at growing and
retaining the digital media industry in San Francisco. Along with
the Mayor and the San Francisco Partnership, she organized the first
San Francisco Multimedia Summit in 1998. She continues to work on
legislation to support the information technology industry and constantly
finds ways to increase the City's online and interactive capabilities.
