Hilary
Mine is executive vice president, Probe
Research, Inc., a research company specializing in the
intersection of telecommunication, IP and wireless. Mine has been
a leading telecom and IT industry analyst for ten years and manages
Probe's Core Internet Subscription Services (CISS), a family of
services that offer extensive global coverage of IP networks, infrastructure
and service provider strategy.
In addition,
Mine manages Probe's unique coverage and forecasting of international
IP Traffic. Her heritage includes seven years following traditional
public network voice and data markets, including coverage of public
switching and transmission markets. Her experience includes project
management for more than 80 major endeavors in the areas of telecom
equipment and service market sizing and forecasting, data communications
market analyses, end user requirements, competitive analyses, carrier
and vendor benchmarking studies and more.
Prior
to joining Probe, Mine managed global consulting for Northern Business
Information. She was previously program manager for the Engineering
Systems Research Center of U.C. Berkeley and an analyst with the
Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE). Mine received
her B.A. in economics from Reed College, and her M.B.A. from San
Francisco State University. She is a member of IEEE and has been
an invited speaker at several conferences and seminars, including
Broadband Year 99, ICC 99, New World Service Provider Summit '99,
IP Telephony Europe, ISP Business Forum, Spring '98 and '99 Voice
over the Net, Internet World, among others.
