Kate Purmal

Kate Purmal is an independent business and marketing consultant. She recently completed a study of Silicon Valley women who have traded off full-time work in order to pursue flexible work options. She is currently writing a book on the topic. Her interest in work-life issues began when she pioneered part-time work policy at Palm Computing, one of the hottest, fastest-growing start-up companies in Silicon Valley. Purmal, a founding member of the Palm Computing team, worked part-time as the director of strategic alliances. Purmal holds a B.S. in mathematics from UC San Diego.
