Julia Tortolani
Julia
Tortolani is a commercial director at Wild
Brain, Inc., an animation studio located in San Francisco,
California. Her recent projects at the studio include a hip new
television/Internet show for the female-focused Oxygen Media Networks
and the latest national commercial campaign for Nabisco's Ritz.
Tortolani has directed commercials for Midas, Mattel, and Parfums
de Couer as well as station ID's for Noggin' Network.
Tortolani
came to Wild Brain from @Radical Media in New York City where her
directing credits included a 90-second trailer for Nike NYC Basketball
that received the Ad Age Animation of the Year Award, ten
commercials for Coca-Cola and an array of spots for Microsoft, Ford
and Hardee's. Her longer format animation work includes a 55-minute
animated program installed with a synchronized light show and surround
sound mix at Universal Studio's Marvel Mania Theme Restaurant in
Hollywood.
Tortolani
holds a degree in geology from the University of Vermont. Her artistic
career began at Vanguard Media, a small New York-based animation
studio, where she worked her way through a second degree at the
Parsons School of Design. In 1996, Julia became an associate professor
of motion graphics at New York University.
