Cynthia
D. Waddell
Cynthia
is an advocate for the Americans
with Disabilities Act. Her areas of expertise include governmental
policy, legislation, implementation and compliance with state and
federal civil rights laws protecting people with disabilities from
discrimination, and empathetic life experience as a person with
a hearing loss.
Waddell
is an experienced public policy maker who holds a number of government
appointments at the local, state and federal level. Waddell is chair
for the Santa Clara County Advisory Commission for People with Disabilities
(Advise Board of Supervisors. In the state she is a Member of the
State of California Access Code Committee (Advise Building Standards
Commission responsible for promulgating statebuilding code) and
on the federal front, she is a participant in the Key Bridge Program
as pro bono ADA mediator for disability access complaints filed
by the public with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Her Website
was awarded the California League of Cities Helen Putnam Grand Prize
for Excellence. Waddell was named "Top 25 Women on the Web" by Webgrrls
International. She holds a J.D. from Santa Clara State Univerity
School of Law and a B.A. from Univerisity of Southern California.
